Our Story

Origins

In 2011, God planted a desire in Pastor Duke Edwards' heart,  to see Sublette County  transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. He gathered a team of several families to serve with and moved to Pinedale. They spent the following year investing in the community before officially launching on Easter 2013.  Several invaluable people have contributed to Wilderness on a leadership level and though many of them have them have moved on, we are eternally grateful for their impact and service. Pastor Andrew Masters is the last remaining staff member from the original launch team and along with his wonderful wife Chelsea, has now stepped into the lead role.

Growing The Kingdom

In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus is asked what the greatest commandment in the Law is. He responds by telling them to "Love God and Love People". At Wilderness Church. this is the very core of our vision and mission.

The Path Forward

The future of Wilderness Church is to continue to grow and reach people in this community and around the world.  We want to be able to keep raising up leaders and sending them out, supporting missionaries, and to be able to share the gospel within our own community.
